Meeting with HVAC people for my new-to-me 1940s home I discovered there are two types of estimator that comes out. Those that understand old houses or those that tell you what you want is all wrong, that you won’t be happy, and that what you should really do is xyz…they usually say at least once “I’m not a sales person, I am a technician.”  Mike and his crew fall into the first category. I realized pretty early on when he was out looking at the house that this was the company that I wanted to work with. I was just hoping that his quote was near all the others. When I got the quote, it was on the low end, but he also offered a cash discount, and another discount if we could start on the next Monday because his crew was open. At that point he was well below his competitors and that Monday worked for me.

We got a couple of estimates and almost went with someone else, until we called Gladstone. Mike came out right away and gave us an estimate. We were stunned to see Mike’s bid was half the price, which included a larger ac unit. Crew was very professional, on time, worked very efficiently and very clean. Everything was completed a day and a half. We were extremely happy with their work and would recommend them to anyone.

I received quotes from other companies but Mike under bid them all with a more efficient system with better components. Two-day install in difficult spaces. Works like a charm and I typically don’t need the large unit in the living room on 90-degree day once the house has cooled. (Approximately 10 minutes). Utility bill has not changed from the time I had the noisy monster in my bedroom window. You can’t even hear the outside unit. Really impressed with Gladstone’s integrity and prompt service. Would recommend to anyone.

Mike, Steve, and Kevin installed air conditioning, new furnace, and new ducts Gladstone was the 3rd estimate we received. Mike patiently answered our numerous questions and gave us a very competitive quote. They were at all times friendly, informative, well mannered, and foremost of all professional. The work was completed on time. When they left the house was cleaner than it was before they started. Our new system is working great. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I needed a new furnace and AC unit. After a quote from Anderson for over $20,000, I decided to buy ductless AC/Heating units and called Mike Gladstone. I was very impressed with Mike and his two employees who installed three units for me. On time, professional and the job were completed in the two days as quoted. Mike was here a good part of the time overseeing the work. My house has high vaulted ceilings and little attic space. My previous AC was very noisy and not very effective. Individual units work better for me and I don’t have to cool the entire house. I paid less than 50% of Anderson’s quote. Whatever AC options you choose, I strongly recommend Gladstone Heating and AC.

If you want it done right, the first time, with the utmost professionalism from bid to close, call Gladstone. In October 2015 I had a complete overhaul of my HVAC system. Mike and his team removed my huge, old, 1970s furnace from my tiny attic. And that was the easy part! The crawl space up there is not even high enough for a 5’4″ person (me) to stand up.

My house had never had A/C so we needed all new ducting and vents; getting into the tiny space was nothing short or a miracle and Mike’s team handled it…even when I asked for a vent in my Master Bathroom, which was seemingly impossible at first glance.

He had to deal with the city that gave him all sorts of issues, but he handled everything.

18 months later (March 2017) we wanted to install a ductless unit in our Granny Flat. Mike was in and out in half a day and it looks amazing!

I cannot say enough great things about Mike, his team, his business, his prices, and his professionalism. I would never call anyone else!

P.s. I used HERO. I would not have been able to do this work on my home without the HERO program, so I am thrilled that Gladstone is a contractor with HERO.

I contacted Mike through Yelp to get a quote on a ductless air conditioning system. He responded super quickly and was able to schedule an estimate within a week. Mike and his crew did an awesome job. I think the quality of work was great and his guys were very respect of our home and spaces. They cleaned up after themselves every day and stayed on time with the project. We had a ton of questions for Mike and he was very patient with us from start to finish. He answered things honestly, gave us his opinion when it mattered, and never wanted us to be unsure or doubtful of things. It was very clear that Mike wanted us to be happy with everything. He won’t let any details slip by. He even came back a day after full install because he wanted to make sure our furnace had a particular setting turned on for better efficiency. I highly recommend Gladstone Heating and Air. Mike very patiently answered my dozens of questions, explained my options to me and managed my expectations very well. This is important to me because so many contractors promise everything but barely deliver the most basic end-product to fulfill the contract. Mike went above and beyond as we dealt with some scheduling set backs and delays.

8/3 was my installation date, the Gladstone crew led by Steve arrived around 8AM and laid down drop cloths everywhere and began work. The crew answered a few questions I had regarding the installation and were quick and professional.

I initially found Gladstone Heating and Air on Yelp and I did get 7-8 other quotes as well. I went with Mike because he was personable, knowledgeable, is a small / local business owner, and the value he provided for the money was outstanding. There is a lot that goes into picking the right contractor and I would not hesitate to recommend Mike to anyone for their HVAC needs.

I called 3 or 4 businesses to get quotes on a mini-split air
conditioner/heater . Every business I spoke with needed to set up an appointment and come to my house before they would give me a ball park figure. When I called Mike, however, he told me straight up that there is pretty much a standard price to install mini-splits, and it only varies according to the size unit that is installed. And electrical work. He was so easy to talk to and he explained everything so well that I cancelled all of the appointments I had made with others and I went with Mike. He came either that day or the next to look at the setup and make sure it would work. His crew arrived within the week to do the install. The crew was wonderful. They went out of their way to route the new electric lines so that they were mostly hidden under the house. This was no small feat, and I know it took them longer than usual, but my price did not go up. They did very precise work. They cleaned up beautifully after themselves. I have never had a contractor come in and do such great work for such a great price in such a short amount of time. My mini-split works beautifully, and I am so pleased with it. By the way, they did spend some extra time with me making sure that I understood what maintenance I had to do, as far as cleaning the filters was concerned. These guys are the best.

Mike and his team were amazing!  We recently purchased a home without AC and after reading the great reviews about Gladstone Heating & AC, decided to have Mike come out to provide an estimate.  Mike’s estimate (I obtained two other from different companies) was by far the most reasonable.  After booking his services, he arrived on both days (the job took 1.5 days to complete) right on time, and both he and his crew were very professional.  Also, they were very considerate of our house while installing the system, which was a bonus.  In the end, our system works great, I feel we received an amazing price, and the communication with Mike throughout the process was detailed and prompt.  I highly recommend!!!  Thank you Gladstone Heating & AC!!

They are very professional and were able to get my new place up and running with a completely new AC/heating unit. Had to replace /install everything new since the house was build in 1979 and only had force air gas heating. They said the job would take up to three days, but they were done by the end of the second day. Mike was very friendly and professional. Even with his busy schedule, he was able to pick up all my calls and answered all the concerns. As a business owner, I know it is hard to please everyone, but Mike and his team went above and beyond. Had to write a review for Mike because he’s amazing!

Our furnace broke 2 days before Christmas. I called a few places and they wouldn’t even come out for a few days. Mike came over THE SAME DAY and the next day, replaced our furnace. He arrived ahead of time on both days and also finished earlier than he estimated. Who does that?!

Next is air conditioning and I’m using Gladstone for sure!

In the middle of a big heatwave, both our upstairs and downstairs AC units went out. I was dismayed at having to replace both units, as this was definitely not in the budget! I called the highest-rated companies on Yelp, and made 6 appointments to get estimates. Most of the people that came out were nice, professional, and qualified, and I was having difficulty making a decision on who to use. Then I met Mike Gladstone. Mike was, without question, the most knowledgeable person of the lot. I had told every person that came out the problems we had been having trying to cool down the upstairs master bedroom, and Mike’s expertise really came through. While everyone else just said, “a bigger unit should do the trick,” Mike suggested some changes (such as moving a register here, and increasing the size of a duct there) that really made a difference.

I hired Gladstone Heating and Air immediately because of Mike’s knowledge and expertise, and I was not disappointed. True to his word, they worked within my budget, and we were able to purchase larger, better units, for less money than the other company’s bids. Mike’s installation team did a great job, and best of all, the new units cool my house down in a fraction of the time that the old ones did. I don’t have to wait nearly 6 hours for the temperature to go down to comfortable levels – now it only takes 20 minutes!

A few weeks after the installation, I heard a noise coming from one of the units that concerned me, so I called Mike and asked him to swing by and check on it. He did the very next day – at no charge, made an adjustment, and the noise went away. For these reasons, Gladstone Heating and Air should be the first call for anyone who has issues with the heating or AC units. Trust me, Mike is the real deal. He provides fast, professional, exceptional service at a fair price, which is why I now recommend Gladstone to all my friends and family. In fact, when my parents AC unit broke down a few months ago, I made sure they called Mike. They did, and the Gladstone team replaced their AC unit as well. Bottom line, they get my highest rating and recommendation. If you are shopping for a heating and air company, I don’t think you will find anyone better!

I cannot say enough good things about Mike and Gladstone Heating & Air! I’ve waited several years before deciding to get A/C. It was a bit overwhelming to say the least with the cost considerations and wanting to find the right company to do the work. Once I finally decided, I got quotes from some of the bigger companies, but found Mike and Gladstone to be a breath of fresh air. His pricing is very competitive to the bigger companies AND Mike goes above and beyond to make sure I am taken care of. They found problems that were unknown when quoted, and fixed them anyway. Mike Gladstone and his crew (Steve and Andrew) are about as professional as you can get with any company that one would pay a substantial amount more for a HVAC needs. We purchased a completely new HVAC system to replace in our home. Mike displayed a high level of professionalism from estimate through install. Not like most larger companies where you get serviced by a sales rep initially, and then never hear from them again. The installers were courteous and very mindful of their work. I am thrilled with my new HVAC system from Gladstone Heating and Air Conditioning! It works beautifully and looks impeccable. They even installed a Nest thermostat so I can monitor and operate the system remotely from my iPhone! 

I met with multiple contractors before going with Gladstone. Mike Gladstone is extremely professional, kind, patient and knowledgeable. He thoroughly answered all of my questions and accommodated my specific requests for a quiet, energy efficient system. His pricing is reasonable, less than most other companies, yet offers more services such as installation of the electrical circuits needed for the job (so I didn’t have to hire an electrician on the side.)

The crew, Steve, Andrew and Jake, were all wonderful — hard working, respectful and clean. They took extra care to place vents in the most beneficial and less visible places. Mike gave me progress updates everyday and oversaw the entire process from start to finish. He has extremely high standards and ethics and goes to great efforts to please the customer. 

The crew cleaned up well before leaving and Mike showed me all aspects of the HVAC system and Nest thermostat. These guys are salt of the earth. They offer exceptional prices, service, skill and courteousness. 

They get five stars and more!

Mike was top notch – starting with the great quote through the two-day process of getting A/C installed.  Not only was his price the best of the four quotes we received, but also he made additional great suggestions.  He added an additional air intake vent and changed all of our air vents covers to more efficient ones that would allow better airflow.  He, Steve and Andrew were respectful, honest, tidy and efficient.  We were very lucky to have found them.  We would give them 10 stars if we could.  Thanks, guys…. we loved your service to us!!!!!
